Me Collecting rugs in Awesome Colors ?!

Met a really nice fellow Travis Bear of Travis and Laura's www.cloverdalerugs.com . The thing is, I lived in the Middle East and used to go down to the souks and have chai and look at these beautiful pieces I never could afford. I bought the 'garbage' carpets. People think they need to know a lot about carpets but it is all about what you like, what feels right. the wool, etc. etc. It was a very common practice for the trader to let people take them home for a while. The ones I bought had goat dung in them and probably still do, but they were made by people seeking freedom, exiles and immigrants, some sold to pay for their trips (Hajj) and were lived on all the while being made and lugged around by camel (of which the wools were woven into the carpets).

Back to Cloverdale, I have a friend I really, really think has reached the time in his life that he should invest in one. Dogs have to be well trained or forget it. But it can go on the wall (prayer rug) over the sofa.

Travis told me that interior designers (to be safe) use the blah blah colors so they work with everything.

I think that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Rather, the fabulous, wonderful, vegetable dyes, and awesome art in these carpets should just jump out at you. You're walking on it!

So, anyway, prices are really good because the value of the $1.00US compared to other world currency is not what it was but THATS OKAY. He has good deals, you know what I mean and I'm talking to (you know who you are).

So USE these works of art and they also will be heirlooms to pass on to your children and grandchildren and also appreciate in value the older they get.

I picked this book up a while ago but I like the maps in it. The prices quoted are off because they are from the years 1986-1995 but it gives you a general idea.

Problem: what if when you bought it you thought it was Persian but was made in India. Look, these poor people have been driven from their home employment because of war, war, war.

Now they are in factories in India and they are not all child labor, they are adults, too. (I've not been to India yet)*

Designers wake-up! Does this book cover not make you fall in love?

resume a turn on...to geekymomma in Alabama

I mean, really, REALLY, but I'm in Alabama and those that dig this stuff are either geeky themselves, conservative sort of, married, and generally don't want to travel by backpack and stay at hostels. Or see the Taj via London without even packing! Or recycle old credit cards into guitar picks!

Actually I drove through Brown University not too long ago in October and was so impressed with the place, the greek restaurant where I ate, people watching. Just the freedom. Getting out of here was a great opportunity but I did have several things happen. More some time later.

Made the mistake of misreading a quiet- until- drinking man as being practical, intelligent, considerate, but a bit of a rebel, only to find out he was a financial dolt, self-absorbed, decent intentions but no capacity to deliver and he never believed I loved him. That justified the abandonment. Oh, he thought I was a party-girl who would party forever but he was a taker and not a giver. How wrong was I, yet, I was blinded by first impressions. I must take responsibility for my mistakes, too. I should have picked a math man instead of a construction engineer. I might have had a happier life. Of course, I am technically estranged and bigamy is not an option. I'm insured against making the same mistake twice.

His drinking buddy always used to tell him it is best to stay married and cheat. I'm afraid he'll grab a gun and hunt down my attorney like he did to his first wife's attorney. (He fell over a hay bail and fell asleep that night so the attorney was spared! Yes, I was intimidated to just stay and not leave.

So, I was just wondering if I ever met anyone again, should he have a resume like this one?

Nobody I know but wow...

Seraphine

The other night at my independent film theatre I saw the movie 'Seraphina'. It really was wonderful. This actress was amazing and the story was amazing, as well.

It was long...7:30 until 9:45 and maybe could have been edited but was so beautiful, it was an experience. Seraphine

was filmed in the most beautiful locations of France. If you are an artist, you will enjoy this film.

My summer dream in the woods of N. Hero Vermont

is a project of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts--a community project and I LOVE IT. Reminds me

of my blog project My Vacation-Yert link

This is just a variation of ancient ways and there is no reason why it couldn't be done in the woods of

Vermont! Vandals might eventually burn it but until then, it might even last a winter if it were staked properly, unlike these which were moved and not staked. Later they shrank. What do you think L & L?

IT MIGHT GET LOUD...wonderful! I knew they were geniuses. I knew they were cutting edge and breaking new ground all along. I LOVED them, as did millions of my baby boomer generation amigos.

The cowboys didn't like it much at Okla State, I'll tell you that, but now listen to what cowboys are

listening too. I mean, it is Rock and Roll, babee! Rock on!

This is something to see again. You won't regret it.

I went to the cemetary that I have visited thousands of times since I was a child. I thought I knew where everyone was. The office was closed. I wandered and wandered and wandered.

I tried to visit my Godmother Bettina but she has just sold her home and moved into a senior apartment with caregiver. I called the realtor and tried to connect with her daughter but that didn't work.

Finally, the office opened and I saw my belovedmaternal grandmother's grave, my godfather, my maternal grandfather and his child son, and my father I did not remember as he died when I was 2 l/2 but whom I never forgot. I did not know that besides my father, my paternal grandmother was there also.
